Parks! America, Inc. engages in the acquisition, development, and operation of local and regional theme parks and attractions in the United States and internationally. The company, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates the Wild Animal Safari theme park in Pine Mountain, Georgia; and the Animal Paradise Family fun park in Strafford, Missouri. It also operates a gift shop, a restaurant, an ice cream parlor, an arcade, a picnic and group recreation area, lakes, a pavilion, and concessions, as well as a wildlife museum in the Wild Animal Safari theme park. In addition, Parks! America owns and operates a staffing services company that provides temporary industrial, construction, service, and clerical staffing services nationwide. The company, formerly known as Great American Family Parks, Inc., is based in Santa Monica, California.
History:  INCORPORATED in Nevada July 19, 2002, as Royal Pacific Resources, Inc.; and on Sept. 27, 2002, merged Painted Desert Uranium & Oil Co., Inc., a Washington corporation organized on July 30, 1954. Name changed to Great American Family Parks, Inc. Jan. 26, 2004; and to Parks America, Inc. June 25, 2008. December 19, 2003, acquired the assets of Great Western Parks, LLC, including the Crossroads Convenience Center, for 27,067,000 Common shares. June 13, 2005, completed the acquisition of Pine Mountain Wild Animal Park located in Pine Mountain, GA. At closing, the company paid $350,000 in cash and a promissory note for $350,000 for the park assets. The company also entered into a real estate purchase agreement for the underlying land and all buildings, improvements and fixtures of the park for $4,000,000 ($2,000,000 in cash at closing and a promissory note for $2,000,000).
