Its logistical services include domestic and international freight forwarding via multi-modal carriers, leading-edge, end-to-end, supply-chain technology, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution, and other transportation-related services. The company transports cargo via air, sea, or land, as well as manages the shipment and/or receipt of cargo into or out of any location in the United States through its network of locations. Janel is registered as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary and licensed as a FMC Licensed Freight Forwarder by the Federal Maritime Commission. Its Special Projects division offers a range of global environmental remediation services, such as project design and management, environmental modeling, and expertise in environmental consulting in China. This division is working on environmental projects in Central America, Russia, and China. It also distributes the patented ClearBlue-104 in China, a triple buffered, ionized liquid copper sulfate that is used in controlling harmful algae, improving the quality of the water by reducing bacteria; and coliform that is highly concentrated in water with algae growth present. The company serves various markets comprising consumer wearing apparel/textiles, machines and machine parts, household appliances, and sporting goods and accessories. Janel World Trade, Ltd. is headquartered in Jamaica, New York.
History:  INCORPORATED in Nevada Aug. 31, 2000, as Wine Systems Design, Inc.; name changed to Janel World Trade, Ltd. July 3, 2002. On Sept. 19, 2002, the company acquired Janel World Transport, Ltd., for 11,000,000 post-split Common shares, through the merger of a wholly owned subsidiary of the company into Janel World Transport and the subsequent merger of Janel World Transport into the company. The company's business began in 1975. October 18, 2007, acquired certain assets of Order Logistics, Inc. consisting of proprietary technology, intellectual property, office locations and equipment and customer lists. The purchase price for the acquired assets was $3,888,429, comprised of $2,463,429 cash paid at closing and the issuance of 285,000 shares of Series B Convertible Preferred stock of the company.
