CURRENT BUSINESS INFORMATION: DNAPrint genomics, Inc., applies proprietary human genome technology to develop pharma-predictive tests for matching patients with drugs based on genetic makeup. It has also developed genomics products for law enforcement forensics and consumer markets. DNAP's business is focused on three segments: pharmacogenomics, forensics, and genealogy, all based on core technology for targeting single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)
In the pharmacogenomics area, DNAPrint(tm) is developing two products. OVANOME(tm) is a genomic-based diagnostic tool that matches ovarian cancer patients with the most suitable form and dose of chemotherapy. STATINOME(tm) is a test being developed for the cardiac drug market to determine whether patients will be good or poor responders to a class of drugs called statins.
The Company's forensics technology products for the law enforcement market are DNAWitness(TM) 2.5, EUROWitness(TM) 1.0 and RETINOME(TM) 1.0. DNAWitness(TM) is a testing method offering predictive capability that can identify the percentage of a person's genetic makeup among the four possible groups of Sub-Saharan Africa, Native American, East Asian and Indo-European. DNAPrint(tm) recently introduced a DNAWITNESS test kit that enables forensics experts to conduct their own tests in their own facilities without sending recovered DNA back to the Company for analysis.
The Company's ANCESTRYbyDNA(tm) product targets the consumer market and is aimed at individuals and groups who are interested in learning their family heritage. An ANCESTRYbyDNA(tm) kit can determine to which of the four biological groups a person belongs. A mouth swab provided in the kit is sent back to DNAPrint'(tm)s laboratory, analyzed, and the complete results including genealogical history are returned on a CD-ROM disc.
