NASD Board Approves OTC Rule Proposals
The NASD^® Board of Governors has approved a series of proposed rule changes for the OTC Bulletin Board^® (OTCBB) and the OTC market. The rules will now be sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for approval. The proposal includes a new eligibility requirement for the OTCBB, a recommendation rule and a disclosure rule.

Rule 15c2-11 Comment Period Closed
The public comment period for the proposed ammendments to the Rule 15c2-11 ended on April 27, 1998. This rule governs the publication of quotations for securities that are traded over the counter.

Due to changes in eligibility requirements for foreign equities and ADRs, many of these securities were removed from the OTCBB, while the foreign equities and ADRs which remained received real-time quotes. Nasdaq would like to thank everyone for their cooperation in this effort.
