New Requirement for the Reporting of Consolidated OTC Equity Short Interest Positions to the Intermarket Surveillance Group (ISG) Effective September 7, 2007

FINRA would like to remind member firms and investors that effective September 7, 2007, the reporting requirements for OTC Equity short interest positions will move to a bi-monthly schedule. Please refer to the 2007 Short Interest Reporting Deadlines for the revised settlement and reporting timeframes. OTC Equity Short Interest will be updated to reflect the revised short interest publication schedule.

The OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB) is a regulated quotation service that displays real-time quotes, last-sale prices, and volume information in over-the-counter (OTC) equity securities. An OTC equity security generally is any equity that is not listed or traded on NASDAQ or a national securities exchange. OTCBB securities include national, regional, and foreign equity issues, warrants, units, ADRs, and Direct Participation Programs (DPPs).
