SEC Re-Proposes Amendments to Rule 15c2-11
|
The Securities and Exchange Commission is reproposing for comment amendments to Rule 15c2-11 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 (Exchange Act). Rule 15c2-11 governs the publication of quotations for securities in a quotation medium other than a national securities exchange or Nasdaq, such as the OTCBB.
The reproposal will increase the information that broker-dealers must review before publishing quotations for non-reporting issuers' securities, and will ease the Rule's recordkeeping requirements when broker-dealers have electronic access to information about reporting issuers. Finally, the SEC gives guidance to broker-dealers on the scope of the review required by the Rule and providing examples of "red flags" that they should look for when reviewing issuer information.
Comments must be received by the SEC on or before April 7, 1999.
- Submit comments to SEC via e-mail and include File No. S7-5-99 in the subject line.
